Be Active ASAP
Cork Sports Partnership is offering Primary Schools and teachers the opportunity to avail of Be-Active ASAP teacher training. The Be Active ASAP has been successfully rolled out nationally. The programme is funded by the HSE and supported by Sport Ireland and St. Patrick’s College, Drumcondra.
The Be Active ASAP links with the Physical Education Curriculum for 1st/2nd class pupils, building on what has been learned in the classroom and offering breadth and diversity of activities. The programme is designed for seven/eight-year-olds and takes place for approximately 50 minutes immediately after school on selected days every week throughout the year.
There are 30 weeks of activities split in 5 strands. Schools must participate in a minimum of 3 strands or they can opt to participate in the whole 5 strands of the programme. The Be Active ASAP uses school facilities and is led by teacher leaders and supported by volunteer parent leaders. Please click here for more information.
The Be Active ASAP is offered FREE of charge to schools. In addition, each school receives a free copy of the programme resources, including 30 weeks of resource cards (lesson plans) and teacher handbook, during this teacher training workshop.
