Vision:
The Forum brings together key organisations and individuals with an interest in increasing participation and creating opportunities for people with a disability in sport and physical activity in Cork.

Mission Statement:
Cork Sports Ability Forum is an inclusive and fully representative city and countywide structure that enables, encourages and supports the development and delivery of sports, physical education & physical activity for people with a disability.
Objectives:
- Guide, support and provide feedback to assist the SIDO in reaching the national objectives established through the CARA Centre. National SIDO objectives include:
- Increase participation in sport and physical activity amongst people with a disability in Cork.
- Develop five key sports county wide – Athletics, Boccia, Swimming, Gym and Fitness, and Soccer.
- Establish sports and physical activity clubs for people with a disability.
- Create opportunities for inter county events through SIDO network.
- Establish links with key agencies and access current provisions.
- Assess and provide support to existing clubs/groups that offer sport and physical activity opportunities for people with a disability.
- Encourage mainstream clubs to become more inclusive.
- Promote the Sports Inclusion Disability Officer programme and the benefits of participation to individuals with a disability.
- Ensure inclusion of the provision of sport and physical activity for people with a disability in Cork Local Sports Partnership strategic plan.
- To have representation on the Board of the Cork Local Sports Partnership.
- To produce a directory of sport and physical activity opportunities for people with a disability, currently available in Cork. Sub group to be elected to take on key research roles. SIDO to play a key role in the establishment of directory.
- Develop a communication pathway between organisations to assist the development of sport and physical activity opportunities for people with a disability in Cork e.g. meetings, emails, LSP newsletters and web sites.
