Cork Sports Womens and Schoolgirl Soccer Programme

The Cork Sports Partnership in conjunction with the Irish Sports Council, the FAI and the Cork Womens and Schoolgirl Soccer League, have teamed up to implement two new soccer initiatives across Cork.

The new Programmes are:

  1. Coaching Development Programme
  2. Fun Blitz Programme

The Coaching Development Programme is aimed at increasing the number and quality of female coaches in the league. This element of the programme is being delivered by FAI tutors with the Cork Womens and Schoolgirl Soccer League (CWSSL) coordinating the dates for delivery.

The Fun Blitz Programme is aimed at increasing the number of young girls playing soccer in Cork by creating more opportunities for them to play the game. This element of the programme is being coordinated by the CWSSL.

The Cork Sports Partnership has funded both initiatives and will continue working with the Cork Womens and Schoolgirl Soccer League and the FAI to ensure this project is successful and will offer any other support that is needed in order to ensure the development of soccer in Cork.
