Frequently asked Questions 

  • Can I wear Headphones? NO it is not permitted to wear headphones while participating in this event.
  • Can I enter by post or register on the day? PRE-REGISTRATION ONLY online. Postal enteries will also be accepted.
  • How soon can i register? Registration is CURRENTLY open. Closes midnight Thursday 19th October, or when max capacity is reached (800)
  • What is the closing date for enteries? The closing date for ONLINE enteries is Midnight Thursday 19th October 2017- or when the maximum number of participants is reached i.e 800. There will be NO registration facility on the morning of the event.
  • Is the course timed and officially measured? Yes the course has been officially measured and has chip timing.
  • How do I know I am entered? Once you enter online you will recieve a confirmation email, along with event details, which include your race number.
  • When do I sign in? Sign in will take place in the CIT Sports Stand during the following times. Friday Oct 20th 5pm - 7pm, Sat Oct 21st 12pm - 2pm and Sun Oct 22nd 8am - 9am.  Here you will collect your race number, timing chip, goody bag and souviner t-shirt.
  • What time does the run start? As we have a 10k and 5K event and in the interest of safety start times will be staggered. The 10K participants will start at 9.45am and 5K particiaptns will start at 9.30am. Participants are advised to arrive and be ready before start time. Please note the run will start from the back of the Athletics Track at CIT.
  • Are there prizes for runners on the day? Yes there are an array of  prizes for different categories on the day for the 10k event only. Participant spot prizes will be allocated to 5k participants. 
  • Is there a water stop on the 10km route? Yes there will be one water stop along the route at approx the half way stage (5km). There will also be water at the finish line. Please note there will be no water on the route for the 5k, there will be water at the finish line. 
  • Is there free parking? Yes there will be parking available in CIT and Leisureworld Bishopstown- but are advised to arrive early to avoid delays.
  • Are there changing and shower facilites? Yes, changing, toilet and shower facilities will be provided for participants in Leisureworld Bishopstown.
  • Is there an age limit? Yes, participants must be 18 years or over for the 10K and 16+ for 5K.
  • What first-aid facilities will be available on the day?  First aid will be provided on the day by the Irish Red Cross.
