Safety First
A hard shell crash helmet is compulsory for every rider. Participants need not spend thousands on their bike but it must be in a well maintained and road worthy condition. The roads will remain open at all times and participants must obey the instructions of the Gardai, the Civil Defence and other event marshals on the day, in the interest of safety. Please be aware of other road users at all times.

Trail Riders

Ballyhoura Bike Hire

Sign On
All intending participants who have registered on or before Wednesday 8th of September will receive their entry pack which will include their receipt of registration, information regarding the routes and the area.
It is compulsory that all participants must sign-in on the weekend of the event itself where they will receive their goody bags and souvenir jersey and t-shirt (family fun cycle). Non compliance with the above will result in your insurance being void for the day.
Here are your opportunities to sign on for your event:

Cork Showground’s on Friday 10th of September between 5-8pm on Saturday 11th of September in the Cork Showground’s between 7-9.30 am.

On Sunday 12th of September in Ballyhoura Forest between 11-6pm.

Registration for the Rebel Pedal Family Fun Cycle will be at the Grand Parade from 11 a.m.
Cyclists will receive their participant number when they sign on.
Facilities
Event headquarters for Saturday 11th of September will be The Cork Showground’s where the following will be provided
- Free car parking
- Toilets
- Changing and shower facilities
- Food Stalls where you can purchase both hot and cold food & drinks
- Toilets will also be available at food stops

Start
Please note: All participants must sign on prior to their event
- Saturday, 11th of September - the Grand Parade, Cork City(sign on in the Showgrounds)
- Sunday, 12th of September a - Ballyhoura Forest Mountain Biking Centre(sign onBallyhoura)
Start times will be as follows:
- 160km Rebel Challenge start at 8.30am
- 80km Rebel Rider start at 10.00am
- 10km Rebel Pedal-family fun cycle start at 12.00 pm
- Rebel Rush starts from 12.00 pm
- Time Limit- 2010 see’s the introduction of a time limit on the Rebel challenge. Cyclists who do not reach the first food and refreshment stop in a reasonable time will be required to accept transport. This measure is being taken due to health and safety concerns and out of consideration for event volunteers.
- Keep Cork Clean- We would ask all riders to leave nothing behind them but their tyre tracks. You will be riding through spectacular scenery so please keep it that way and don’t litter.
- First Aid- First aid will be provided on the day by the Red Cross. There will also be service vehicles for those cyclists who experience mechanical difficulties. I f you do get in to difficulty please inform event personnel immediately and we will endeavour to remedy each individual situation.
Finish Area
Saturday September 11th - all routes will finish at the Cork Showground’s. There will be an array of activities to get involved in for all, including mountain biking tips and techniques, hand cycling demonstrations, safer cycling training and electric bikes.
Sunday 12th of September will be Ballyhoura Forest.
Fun games and activities:
There will be an array of activities to get involved in after each event on both days, some of these may include:circus clowns, puppet shows, mountain biking tips and techniques, hand cycling demonstrations, safer cycling training, tug of war games.electric bikes etc.
