Introduction to Trail Walking workshop
This introductory workshop is designed to give useful information and practical ideas to assist participants in planning safe and enjoyable walks on marked walking routes. It is especially suitable for those new to trail walking. However, the workshop is NOT suitable for those already involved in Hill Walking/Mountaineering clubs.
The workshop will include the following information; trail tales, benefits of walking, walking techniques, planning your walk and safety issues, leave no trace principals, “Getting in Gear”. There will also be a demonstration of Nordic Pole walking and a practical walk in the woods!
This workshop is free of charge and adults, of reasonable fitness levels are welcome to apply. The workshop is being delivered on Sunday 2nd October from 10am – 4pm in the National Rowing Centre, Farran Woods, Cork.
