Meet & Train
The Cork Mini Marathon was the catalyst for the “meet and train” initiative. Each year hundreds of women take part in the mini marathon, mostly to raise funds for deserving charities but also to be a part of what is a fantastic fun and social event. The Health Promotion Department of the Health Service Executive Southern Area and County Cork Local Sports Partnership recognized the potential to build on this success and decided to set up “meet and train” groups. These groups will facilitate women coming together to increase their fitness levels and have fun in preparation for the event.
The Cork Sports Partnership is committed to supporting the Meet & Train initiatives’ and has set up a number of groups over the last year. If you would like to know more about the Meet & Train or to find out where your nearest group is, please do not hesitate to contact us 021 4665081. Alternatively if you are a club and are interested in setting up a ‘meet & train’ group within your club we would be delighted to hear from you also.
