Cork Secondary Schools Tennis Programme 2018

Cork Sports Partnership and Munster Tennis have teamed up to roll out a Secondary School Tennis Programme for the 2018/19 school year. The programme will run across a limited number of Secondary Schools in Cork City & County.

The aim of the programme is to introduce 1st, 2nd and 4th year secondary school students to the sport of Tennis in a supportive environment. In return for full commitment to the programme, each school will receive a 4 week Coaching Programme.

This programme is valued at over €400 per school and is heavily subsidised by Cork Sports Partnership. The programme will cost each school €8 per pupil to take part in which will be payable upon acceptance to the programme. 

Steps involved in the Application Process

Step 1: School registers its 1st, 2nd and 4th year classes to participate in the Secondary Schools Tennis Programme by completing the programme registration form.

Step 2: Registration will be acknowledged by Cork Sports Partnership.

Step 3: Successful schools will be contacted by Cork Sports Partnership to confirm acceptance on to the programme and invoiced €8 per student to take part. Unsuccessful schools will be placed on a waiting list for future phases of the programme.

Step 4: Following receipt of payment, the Tennis Ireland coach will contact all successful schools to arrange suitable training days in the school.

Step 5: The Tennis coach will deliver the 4 training sessions (45 mins each) as agreed with school.
