Cork Sports Partnership - The 2018 Story

With 2019 fast approaching, we take a quick look back at yet another incredibly busy year. Check out the video below for a whistle-stop tour of 2018. 

 

Key Summary Metrics in 2018:
  • Over 49,660 people took part in CSP initiatives in 2018.
  • 17,340 people took part in 23 events coordinated or supported by CSP. 
  • 22,961 people took part in 17 different NGB sports programmes supported by CSP.
  • 12,556 children took part in school programmes across 12 different sport & activities. 
  • 5,712 people took part in 47 different community based initiatives. 
  • 1,695 attendees completed 115 training & education workshops. 
  • 1,952 people with disabilities took part in 42 Cork SportsAbility programmes. 
Key Highlights:
  • Establishment of Cork Northside Sports Hub with 1,394 participants taking part in initiatives. 
  • 2 new NGB Sport Development Officers in Athletics & Rowing joined the CSP team to form part of the CSP Active Cork Sports Team. 
  • New Go Adventure Outdoor Education Course in conjunction with Kinsale OEC & Cork ETB.
  • The launch of the Glen River Parkrun 
  • New School programmes in Athletics, Tennis, Golf, Badminton & Volleyball
  • Launch of the Older Adults Staying Fit for the Future programme 
  • The 1st Cork Rebel Ramble as part of Cork Walking Week 
  • The 1st Golf for All programme in Mahon Golf Course with O’ Keeffe Golf & Prince Clinic 
  • Over 1,200 participants taking part in the Cork Rebel Run
  • 1,243 people attended 89 Safeguarding workshops in 2018
  • 850 people took part in events as part of Cork SportsAbility Week 2018
