National Bike Week returns to Cork this June

Cork Bike Week will take place from 10th - 18th June with events taking place throughout Cork City and County. Cork Bike Week forms an integral part of National Bike Week each year with over 50 events taking place in Cork each year. In 2016, 4,484 people took part in 54 events spread throughout Cork. This year, with your help, we hope to exceed this!

Cork Sports Partnership is currently accepting applications on behalf of Cork City Council and Cork County Council from Clubs, Community Groups and Schools who wish to organise their own local participatory event for Cork Bike Week.

The scale and scope of your National Bike Week event is up to each applicant. However, applications that focus on the following event criteria will be more positively received and prioritised:


Club/Community/Organisation Event Criteria:

  • The event MUST take place during Bike Week (10th – 18th June)
  • The Event must be FREE to take part in
  • Family Fun Cycles (10k, 20k, 30k etc.)
  • Recreational/Leisure Cycles focusing on including non-club members, the lapsed cyclist, families, beginners etc.
  • Focus of inclusion, non-competitive, community focus, family, local school participation.

Application process is open from 20th March until 28th April. Closing date for receipt of applications for inclusion in Cork Bike Week is 5pm on Friday 28th April.
