Bike Doctor & Parks Greenways & Quiteways of Cork City
Date & Time: Fri, 20th May @ 1.30pm (Bike Doctor 12.30pm)

Meeting Point: Grand Parade

Who: Those capable of competent road cycling and covering short/medium distances including older children under supervision or on their parent’s bikes

Description: The majority of this cycle will be off road and most of the rest on very quiet roads, it will be slow and easy so is particularly suited to those who are less confident cyclists A Cycle out along the river to the Lee Fields, then along the Greenway behind CIT to Curraheen, though quite estate roads to the Greenway parallel to the N22 between the Bandon Road and Wilton, though quite estate roads and across the Cycle/Pedestrian bridge to Togher cross to join the Greenway Parallel to the N22 into the Tramore Valley Park for t a picnic stop, leave the park via the Greenway Parallel to the N22 to Douglas Village, through the village to the Park on to the Green way to Donnybrook, back through Douglas village to the Green way behind Besskrook to Mahon Strand, past Blackrock Castle and alone the Marine back to the city.

Bandon Discovery Bike Trail
Date & Time: Fri, 20th May @ 7pm

Meeting Point: Ballymodan Car park

Who: Those capable of competent road cycling and covering short/medium distances including older children under supervision or on their parent’s bikes

Description: A heritage and biodiversity hunt will be organised around Bandon with participants using there bike to hunt for the clues etc. This will culminate in a gathering for pizza and music at a local pizzeria in the town. This event will encourage the social aspect of cycling aswell as supporting a local business.

Who: Those capable of competent road cycling and covering short/medium distances including older children under supervision or on their parent’s bikes

Description: A cycle around a selection of street art installations recently installed at various location in the city with stops to talk about each peace and artist talks

Description: Mechanics from Cork Community Bikes will thoroughly check your bike and carry out any small repairs as needed. We’ll explain what we’re doing and give advice on looking after your bike, and you’ll have a bike prescription to take away.

Taster session: Fix your bearings
Date & Time: Fri, 20th May @ 6.30pm

Meeting Point: Cork Community Bikes, Blackpool

Who: Adults & Families

Description: An intro session on bearings, this will give a better understanding of how these should work. The focus will be on helping you to recognise when there are problems, and this may allow you to fix any issues that come up on your bike. Feel free to bring your bike along, and we may use it for demonstration, and you will have the chance to try out the repair work yourself. We will have materials and tools to work on the bikes used.

The Bike Circus Clonakilty Introduction to Accessibility Cycles

Meeting Point: The Bike Circus Clonakilty 

Who: Those with mobility issues

Description: Introduction to Accessibility Cycles – ‘Trikes, Trishaws & Tandems and more’ A workshop geared towards those with mobility issues for whom bicycles aren’t practical solutions.
