Bike Doctor & Cycle to Killeens 
Date & Time: Thurs, 19th May @ 1.30pm (Bike Doctor 12.30pm)

Meeting Point: Grand Parade

Who: Those capable of competent road cycling and covering short/medium distances including older children under supervision or on their parent’s bikes

Description: A Northside orbital cycle just beyond the urban edge showing quite routes around the Northwest of the city relatively short but hilly with a picnic break

Leisure Cycle to Cobh
Date & Time: Thurs, 19th May @ 7pm

Meeting Point: Opera House 

Who: 35km suitable for active adult cyclists 

Description: Cycle to Monkstown using the cycle paths along the old railway line, cross ferry to Cobh for Coffee and return to the City on this magical tour. Coffee/ Tea, refreshments and food will be provided free to all participants in The Haven Cafe on Bachelors Quay after the cycle.

Youghal Bicycle Tyre & Tube Maintenance Workshop
Date & Time: Thurs, 19th May @ 6.30-7.30pm

Meeting Point: Green Park, Youghal

Who: 18+ year olds

Description: Participants will be shown by a qualified bike mechanic how to do the following and given an opportunity to practice same. Individual kits its will be provided to use & participants can take these away with them. Check condition of tyres, Appropriate Air Pressure, pumping your tyres, Wheel removal, Tyre Removal, Tube Check for a puncture. Puncture repair or tube replacement, Re assemble

Bike Week Cork Bat Cycle to Ballincollig
Date & Time: Thurs, 19th May @ 7pm

Meeting Point: Grand Parade

Who: Those capable of competent road cycling and covering short/medium distances including older children under supervision or on their parent’s bikes

Description: In collaboration with biodiversity week. A cycle out to Ballincollig regional park out along the river the Mardyke and Lee Fields. There will be a break for a picnic before the journey back to the city, as the sun sets there will be opportunities for bat watching

Cycle Sense Brakes Workshop Skibbereen
Date & Time: Thurs, 19th May @ 7pm

Meeting Point: Cycle Sense Workshop, Skibbereen Showgrounds

Who: Children, families, adults. All ages (any children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult)

Description: Get summer ready with good working brakes, adjust and fix with qualified mechanics

Taster session: Fix Your Brakes Workshop
Date & Time: Thurs, 19th May @ 12pm

Meeting Point: Service Yard at Cork University Hospital

Who: Adults

Description: An intro session on brakes, this will give a better understanding of how these should work. The focus will be on helping you to recognise when there are problems, and this may allow you to fix any issues that come up on your bike. Feel free to bring your bike along, and we may use it for demonstration, and you will have the chance to try out the repair work yourself. We will have materials and tools to work on the bikes used.

Skibbereen Library – Cycling For Everyone
Date & Time: Thurs, 19th May @ 4pm

Meeting Point: Skibbereen Library

Who: Families and individuals over 18

Description: To demonstrate how an old bike can be refurbished and give many more years of service, benefitting the environment and providing the owner with transport and exercise, while at the same time, taking the opportunity to promote environment, upcycling, sports and exercise book collections for both adults and children in the library. To help individuals and families who cannot afford new bicycles to get started in cycling. To talk about road safety and cyclist’s responsibilities. To promote the importance of bicycle maintenance and care and give advice on how to make minor repairs safely.

Try Out Adapted Bikes
Date & Time: Thurs, 19th May @ 2pm-5pm

Meeting Point: Lee Rowing Club, Cork Marina

Who: Adults and families with special mobility needs

Description: This is an opportunity for those with special mobility needs to try out and enjoy various bikes such as tricycles, handcycles, rickshaws and tandems, on a car-free road. There will be help and advice on hand from Cope Foundation and Cork Community Bikes.

Family Cycling Fun at the Fairfield Skibbereen
Date & Time: Thurs, 19th May @ 7-8.30pm

Meeting Point: Fairfield car park, Skibbereen 

Who: Children, families, adults. All ages (any children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult)

Description: Fun and games on bikes and cycle around the town with bike doctors to make sure the bikes are working well!
