Description: A cycle out the Curraheen greenway to Ballincollig Castle and back via the Ballincollig Regional Park. There will be breaks for a picnic at Ballincollig Castle and the Regional Park.

Learn to Cycle Using Balance Bikes
Date & Time: Mon, 15th May @ 5pm

Meeting Point: Skibbereen Sports Centre

Who: Children

Description: Participants will have fun on balance bikes while cycle instructors go through the stages of scooting, striding, gliding and introducing pedalling.

Assistive & Adaptive Cycling Workshop for the Elderly & Less Abled

Who: Older Adults & Disability

Description: Assistive and adaptive cycling for the elderly and less abled. Presentation on electric assisted and specially constructed tandems, bikes, & trikes. Discussion introducing the Bike Depot Project, an initiative of The Bike Circus

Be Wide Yo Ride’ Safety Workshop

Who: Children 8-18yo

Description: Making young kids aware of bike safety safety on the road and to be seen. We will do this by inviting kids to brink their bikes to club and go through bike safety activities

Cycling Skills and Bike Maintenance
Date & Time: Mon, 15th May @ 5pm

Meeting Point: Bishopstown GAA club

Who: Underage players

Description: Introduction to cycling safety, helmet, lights, hand signals, safe stopping, breaking, making a turn to the right, making a turn to the left, merging into traffic from a bike lane, cycling with a hurley and helmet, and how best to manage this. We will also host a session on basic bike maintenance.

We Bike Here, Community Engagement Event | Hollyhill
Date & Time: Mon, 15th May @ 6.00pm

Meeting Point: Hollyhill Library, Harbour View Rd

Who: Adults

Description: A community building event with Cork Cycling Campaign for those who cycle in the area and also an opportunity for those who do not cycle to discuss what it’s like as a cyclist in their local area. We will have information on bike maintenance on hand and will discuss basic bike upkeep and bringing a bike back in to use for those who have not cycled in some time as well as having information on non standard bikes such as cargo, trike etc.

How to Check Your Bike | Cork College of FET, Cork City

Meeting Point: Cork College of FET, Cork City

Who: Adults

Description: Bring your bike along to the College of FET (old College of Commerce) and mechanics from Cork Community Bikes will show you how to check a bike to make sure it’s safe and comfortable to cycle. This will help you be more aware as problems develop and save you money on repairs. We will also show some quick repairs based on any problems you find on your bike. Tools will be provided if needed. No problem if you don’t have a bike with you, you can learn from other bikes.
