A Wheelie Good Evening! Bike Maintenance Workshop

Description: Everything you need to know about wheels. Yes everything! Topics include truing a wheel, puncture repairs, replacing spokes, hub maintenance and the building of an up-cycled wheel leaf mould composter!

Brakes Maintenance Workshop

Description: Brakes & Brake Maintenance. Introduction to Vee Brakes. Brief lecture by Jack, then Greasy Hands Time for all participants.

We Bike Here, Community Engagement Event | Togher
Date & Time: Tues, 16th My @ 6pm

Meeting Point: Togher Community Garden

Who: Adults

Description: A community building event with Cork Cycling Campaign for those who cycle in the area and also an opportunity for those who do not cycle to discuss what it’s like as a cyclist in their local area. We will have information on bike maintenance on hand and will discuss basic bike upkeep and bringing a bike back in to use for those who have not cycled in some time as well as having information on non standard bikes such as cargo, trike etc.

Inclusive Bikes for All Open Day

Who: People with disabilities

Description: Give people with disabilities the opportunity to try a wide range of bikes. We will have access to hand cycles, front and rear wheeled tricycles, a side by side bike, balance bikes and two wheelers. It will give people the opportunity to try different bikes and find a bike which may best suit their needs

Leisure Cycle to Blarney & Proceeding Bike Doctor

Description: A leisure cycle out to Blarney Castle, on to the Blarney to Waterloo Green way and back to Cork. There will be a break for a picnic at Blarney Castle.

Fix Your Brakes Workshop
Date & Time: Tues, 16th May @ 6.30pm-8pm

Meeting Point: Cork Community Bikes, Assumption Rd, Blackpool

Who: Adults 

Description: An intro session on brakes (rim/non-disc type), this will give a better understanding of how these should work. The focus will be on helping you to recognise when there are problems, and this may allow you to fix any issues that come up on your bike. Feel free to bring your bike along, and we may use it for demonstration, and you will have the chance to try out the repair work yourself. We will have materials and tools to work on the bikes used. Bad weather could affect this outdoor event.
