Women on Wheels Programme Taster Midleton
Date & Time: Tues, 17th May @ 6.30pm

Meeting Point: Gaelscoil Mainistir na Corann Midleton

Who: Improver-intermediate female cyclists. Participants must be 18yr old +. Participants should bring their owns bikes and helmets in safe working condition

Description: An introduction for the improver-intermediate cyclist to the Women on Wheels programme, checks to be completed prior to cycling on road, activities to assess and improve core bikes skills, an introduction to group cycling, a group cycle on the cycle paths around Midleton

Bike Doctor & Cycle to Blarney  
Date & Time: Tues, 17th May @ 1.30pm (Bike Doctor 12.30pm)

Meeting Point: Grand Parade

Who: Those capable of competent road cycling and covering short/medium distances including older children under supervision or on their parent’s bikes

Description: A cycle out to Blarney Castle, on to the Blarney to Waterloo Green way and back to Cork. There will be a break for a picnic at Blarney Castle.

Cork Cycling Festival – Cork Artists Way Cycle

Description: Join the Cork Cycling Festival crew as they visit and stop by at several cultural and art venues in Cork city centre to connect artists to the community. This tour was curated by Whazon Cork and will include Visual Art, Street Art, Sculpture, Literature, Music and some creative refreshment.  Numbers are limited so to register, simply email to confirm places and details.

Who: Those capable of competent road cycling and covering short/medium distances including older children under supervision or on their parent’s bikes

Description: A cycle to each of the parklets we visited last year as well as the new city parklets recently installed at various locations in the city

Bike Week Cork Movie Night

Meeting Point: The Friary 

Who: Adults

Description: In collaboration with UCC Italian dept. and the Italian film festival. To celebrate bike week the Friary Bar will treat us to a showing of Bicycle Thieves (Ladri di biciclette) a stunningly visual film with sparse but powerful dialog. Free snacks & popcorn for everybody!

Taster session: Fix your brakes
Date & Time: Tues, 17th May @ 6.30pm

Meeting Point: Cork Community Bikes, Assumption Road, Blackpool

Who: Families & Adults

Description: An intro session on brakes, this will give a better understanding of how these should work. The focus will be on helping you to recognise when there are problems, and this may allow you to fix any issues that come up on your bike. Feel free to bring your bike along, and we may use it for demonstration, and you will have the chance to try out the repair work yourself. We will have materials and tools to work on the bikes used.
