Cork Walking Week 2020 took place from June 21st – 28th.
The people of Cork joined us by stepping out and taking part in the many challenges, workshops, competitions, and training sessions which took place during Cork Walking Week 2020.
Cork Walking Week 2020 took place from June 21st to 28th and was a fun-filled hub for all walking activities across Cork. The week-long celebration of walking took place throughout Cork and encouraged people to experience a multitude of walking opportunities in their local area.
The theme of 2020 walking week was Cork Walks Together as we continued to connect people through physical activity. Even though we were living with travel restrictions, moving by foot had increased significantly and Cork Walking Week was a way to celebrate this achievement.
We will be announcing dates for Cork Walking Week 2022 shortly. Join us and Get Cork Walking together. The Cork Walking Forum will be central to this event so if you are a member of a walking group or would like to get involved please contact your Walking Promotion Officer at 📩firstname.lastname@example.org.
Much of the content for Cork Walking Week 2020 was delivered online and was open to all abilities. We had something for everyone!
Speaking about the Cork Walking Week recently, Barry O’Connell of the Cork Sports Partnership said, “It is great to see the amount of people who have turned to walking as a way of keeping active and well during this time. People of all ages and abilities are exploring their towns, villages and communities on foot and gaining huge appreciation in return. We would love to share and celebrate this as part of Cork Walking Week 2020”.
