Cork Bike Week Evening Cycle to Curraheen

To get people on their bikes in a pleasant and social atmosphere, secondarily to familiarise people with the various routes, parks, greenways etc. 

A cycle out to Curaheen out along the Greenways from the Lee Fields behind MTU and along the Curaheen before the journey back to the city.

  • Who: Suitable for all those capable of competent road cycling and covering short/medium distances including older children under supervision or on their parent’s bikes.

Cork Sports Partnership & Wild Atlantic Sports video series shows Sprocket Rocket Skills to be used as a way to involve schools in running their own bike week event in school or parents to run a mini-event at home or in their neighbourhood. 

Cork Community Bikes, Bike Maintenance: Gears

This is an introduction session on gears, and will give a better understanding of how these should work. The focus will be on helping you to recognise when there are problems, and this may allow you to fix any issues that come up on your bike. Feel free to bring your bike along for demonstration, and you will have the chance to try out the repair work yourself.

Cork Community Bikes - Bike Doctor - Deaf Community 

This event is particularly aimed at the Deaf and hard of hearing, with sign language interpreting available throughout to communicate issues with bikes and maintenance advice.

Our mechanics will thoroughly check your bike and carry out any small repairs as needed. We'll explain what we're doing and give advice on looking after your bike, and you'll have a bike prescription to take away.
