Cork Bike Week Funding

Cork City Council and Cork County Council have secured funding from the Department of Transport, Sport and Tourism to support a limited number of participatory cycling events during National Bike Week 2020. Clubs, Groups, Communities and Schools are invited to apply for funding to organise FREE Bike Week events in 2020. 

The scale and scope of your National Bike Week event is up to each applicant. However, applications that focus on the following will be more positively received and prioritised: 

  • Family Fun Cycles (5k, 10k, 20k etc)
  • Recreational/Leisure Cycling events focusing on including non-club members, the lapsed cyclist, families, beginners etc.
  • Focus of inclusion, non-competitive, community focus, family, schools participation.

This is an ideal opportunity to promote cycling and create additional awareness of your club/group/school in the local community, in particular among non-members.

If you would like to take part in National Bike Week 2020 by organising your own local event during National Bike Week, please complete the following online form or downloadable form return it to Cork Sports Partnership by email to jkirby@corksports.ie or post to James Kirby, Cork Sports Partnership, c/o Motor Tax Office, Model Business Park, Model Farm Road, Cork.

Successful Applicants will be required to complete and submit a short report of the event including photos and a short video at the end of National Bike Week. Report forms will be provided to successful applicants.
