Cork Cyclocross Academy 

This initiative offers children aged 5-12 years, teens 13–17 years, and adults the opportunity to learn the basics of cyclocross (off road/cross country cycling), in the traffic free, landscaped Tramore Valley Park!

       


The initiative is supported by Cork Sports Partnership, Cork City Council and Cycling Ireland, and coaching will be organised and delivered by De Ronde Van Cork Cycling Club. 


The Cork Cyclocross Academy will take place on 5 Sunday mornings between 10am–11am between November – February. Dates and times are highlighted below. These coaching sessions will be delivered by De Ronde Van CC volunteer coaches who have completed the relevant training and vetting (Garda Vetting, Safeguarding, Cycling Ireland Sprocket Rocket Cyclocross)

  2. Sun, 15th Dec (10am–11am)
  3. Sun, 12th Jan (10am–11am)
  4. Sun, 26th Jan (10am–11am)
  5. Sun, 16th Feb (10am–11am)

Participant Information:
  • All under 18’s should have an adult present
  • Cost of €30 for 5 weeks (Includes Sprocket Rocket logbook, stickers, certificate & insurance for the duration of the programme)
  • All riders should wear a helmet and have a bike that has at least some grip on tyres (not smooth road type tyres). Most kids bikes/mountain bikes will be fine to start to learn on
  • All participants should be of good health and understand that falling off the bike is likely as part of the activity. Participants should take part in all events in the full understanding that while all precautions will be taken to prevent injury, injury may still occur, & you take part at your own risk
