Cork GAA For All

Cork GAA For All

Cork Sports Partnership, Rebel Og Coaching and GAA Health and Wellbeing are delighted to highlight Cork GAA For All, an exciting development.

In line with the GAA value of Inclusiveness, this club development aims to assist GAA clubs in Cork to support children with disabilities to access their local community club and take part in adapted gaelic games. This development promotes the ethos of a community club for all.

To kick off the development, Cork Sports Partnership and Rebel Og Coaching hosted a club briefing evening with interested clubs.

Back L-R Kevin O' Callaghan (Rebel Og Coaching), Mairéad Beausang (Healthy Club Officer Midelton GAA), Gillian Murphy (Midleton GAA), Kate Feeney (Sports Inclusion Disability Officer). Front L-R Ger Fitzgerald (Midleton GAA), Mike Lynch (Killeagh GAA), Liz Sinclair (Healthy Club Officer Killeagh GAA) and Maurice O Sullivan (Sport & Marketing Manager).

Clubs highlighted their commitment to the development in 2019, and with the support of CARA and Rebel Og Coaching, 21 coaches from Midelton GAA and Killeagh GAA participated in Disability Inclusion Training (GAA specific). In 2020, 16 coaches from Youghal GAA and Newcestown GAA have successfully completed the training. This training has proved to be an essential component to support coaches in welcoming players of all abilities to their club.
