Parkrun free weekly runs

Cork Sports Partnership and Get Ireland Active have supported a number of local groups and organisations to establish parkrun's in Cork since 2012.  

Parkrun is a free, weekly, 5km timed run that is a worldwide concept and is rapidly growing here in Ireland. 

Cork Parkruns:

Castle Demense parkrun

The Castle Demense parkrun, Macroom takes place in the grounds of the Castle Demense by The Community Leisure Centre every Saturday morning @ 9.30am and is coordinated by parkrun community volunteers.

Clonakilty parkrun

Clonakilty parkrun takes place in the Show Grounds Clonakilty, coordinated by parkrun community volunteers.

Bere Island parkrun

Bere Island parkrun takes place on Bere Island, just off Castletownbere (short ferry ride), coordinated by parkrun community volunteers.

Ballincollig parkrun 

Ballincollig parkrun takes place in the Regional Park Ballincollig every Saturday @ 9.30am.  The event starts at the Allotment side of the park (by Innishmore).

Glengarriff parkrun 

The Glengarriff parkrun will take place at Glengarriff Nature Reserve, Kenmare Road, Glengarriff, Co. Cork, every Saturday since January 2016. 

Castlehaven parkrun 

The Castlehaven parkrun will take place at Rineen Woods, Union Hall, Cork every Saturday since January 2016. The local community and volunteers would like to welcome everyone to the inaugural event on January 16th and every Saturday thereafter for thier weekly parkrun through this fantastic local ameniety and to have a social cuppa afterwards!

Cobh Junior parkrun

The first junior parkrun event for Cork was launched in May 2018.  Cobh Junior parkrun takes place every Sunday morning @ 9.30am. A 2k event, it attracts up to 100 participants on a weekly basis. Run by a team of volunteers the junior parkrun is aimed at kids between 4 and 14 but parents, siblins and guardians can join in also. 

Glen River parkrun

The Glen River parkrun takes place at Glen River Park, Glen Avenue, The Glen, Cork. Access to the event is from the Glen Resource Centre, and you can find directions and details >> here <<. The Glen River parkrun commenced November 24th 2018 and has being going from strength to strenght since. 

  • ***Mallow parkrun*** - Starting Sat, 2nd Feb!!!! 

Who can take part?
  • EVERYONE!! Parkrun is open to everyone, free, and is safe and easy to take part in. Events take place in pleasant parkland surroundings and people of all abilities are encouraged to take part. 
How do I register?
  • You must register in advance of any parkrun event to get your barcode which will allow you to take part each week and in any parkrun event locally or worldwide.                                                                                                                                                                  
What time is it on? 
  • The events all start at 9.30am 
How much will it cost me?
  • Nothing - Parkruns are FREE weekly events organised by local volunteers.
