Primary & Secondary - Badminton
Cork Sports Partnership and Badminton Ireland are teaming up to roll out a new Schools Badminton Programme in 2020. The programme aims to overcome the initial barriers of introducing badminton into a school environment by; educating teachers to coach Badminton, providing teachers with equipment and session plans to deliver the game, offering social blitz competitions for the students while also developing club-school links.

- Time: 10am - 4pm
- Cost: €100 per school
Step by Step Process |
Step 1: School nominates and registers teacher(s) to attend Shuttle-Time Training day by completing the programme registration form. Step 2: Registration will be acknowledged by Cork Sports Partnership. Step 3: As places on the programme are limited, successful schools will be contacted by Cork Sports Partnership to confirm acceptance on to the programme and invoiced €100 per school to take part in the training. Unsuccessful schools will be contacted and placed on a waiting list for future phases of the programme. Step 4: Following receipt of payment, teachers will attend the ShuttleTime Training Day Step 5: Teachers will receive lesson plans and resource pack(s) which will include 15 rackets, shuttlecocks and net per pack) Step 6: Teachers will deliver weekly Badminton lessons in the lead up to the FREE Badminton event which will take place in a Cork venue. Step 7: Badminton Ireland Coach will visit each school for a coaching workshop In the event that a large number of schools are located in the same area of Cork, an alternative venue/blitz day may be arranged to minimise travel. |
