WellComm - Well Communities Connected

On Saturday January 12th 2019 WellComm (the well community festival) in conjunction with Cork Sports Partnership took place in Terence McSwiney Community College, Knocknaheeny. Ran in conjunction with the Operation Transformation Walk the event attracted over 300 participants.

With the many demands placed on our lives it can be difficult to prioritise our health and wellbeing, and very few of us lead as healthy a life as we might wish.

Starting with a 5k Operation Transformation Walk this FREE Health & Well-being Festival offers over 50+ workshops, demos, info stalls, health checks and much more so don’t miss out on what is sure to be a great day for all!

Whats on:
  • There will be healthy cooking demonstrations and tastings, and watch out for appearances by celebrities who will be sharing their advice on healthy habits.
  • Screenings for blood pressure, BMI and diabetes will be available on site. Take away a Know Your Numbers Card and get to know your own body metrics.
  • Operation Transformation 5k Walk which is promoted nationally will start and finish at Terence MacSwiney College main carpark
  • Physical activity workshops, walking football, Little Athletics and much much more!

We want to show everyone in Cork and Kerry that being healthy isn’t as difficult as you might think. Rather than making big, radical changes to your daily routine, you can get where you want to go through lots of little alterations. 

A key aim of the event will be to start a new conversation about people’s health and
wellbeing, and to support people to think about, and make positive changes to their life.
