Wheels For All Scheme

Wheels For All offers people with reduced mobility the opportunity to trial adaptive bikes in order to be active, move freely and independently.

The aim of Wheels For All is to increase awareness and knowledge of adaptive bikes, and to create participation opportunities for people with a physical disability. This rental scheme is offered free of charge through the Cork Sports Partnership, Sports Inclusion Programme.

Cork Sports Partnership through the support of the Sport Ireland, Sports Inclusion Capital Grant have the following available for loan:

Handcycles: 

  • Handcycles are powered by the arms and support people to enjoy cycling, see below:

Wheelchair Racing Chair :

  • A wheelchair racing chair is specially designed for racing on the track and road, see below: 

 

Petra Race Runner: 

  • ​The PETRA RaceRunner is an aid which will support you to walk, jog or run, see below:
  • This is a medium frame and suitable for young people and adults.

Wheels For All loan includes:

  • Correct adjustment of the bike to suit you
  • Advice and guidance on how to use the bike
  • Recommendations on llocations / routes in Cork City & County
  • Up to 90 day loan duration
