Women in Sport Round Up 2022

Over 1,100 women take part in Cork Women in Sport Programmes & Events in 2022

Cork Sports Partnership coordinated 11 specific women in sport projects during 2022 to encourage more women and girls to take up a new activity or sport for the first time.

Cork Sports Partnership also supported 2 national campaigns in 2022 with over 40 taster sessions and additional opportunities for women and girls of all ages and abilities to try new activities in conjunction with partner organisations. 

During Women in Sport Week in March, Cork Sports Partnership coordinated 18 events across Cork City and County including karate, boxing, volleyball, soccer, table tennis, hiking, badminton, cycling, taekwondo, trail walking and online webinars.

During Her Outdoors Week in August, Cork Sports Partnership teamed up with Horse Sport Ireland, Angling Ireland, Ból Chumann na hÉireann, Cycling Ireland, Get Ireland Walking, Orienteering Ireland, Canoeing Ireland, Mountaineering Ireland, Swim Ireland to host 22 taster sessions and come & try events

9. Women’s Try a Tri
10. Women’s Volleyball

12. Other Taster Sessions and Come & Try Events: Equestrian, Fishing, Trail Walking, Road Bowling, Orienteering, Mountain Biking, Kayaking, Rowing, Karate, Wakeboarding, Taekwondo, Walking, Hiking, Yoga, Pilates, Activator Poles, Surfing.
