Go For Life Update

Wednesday 29 June 2016

Following a Blitz day in Bishopstown on the May 11th where over 45 Older Adults were in attendance a Cork team of 15 travelled to the National Games on Saturday June 11th.  The team was one of many teams from all over the country that came to take part in the games and enjoy a day of fun and activity.  The overall aim of Go for Life is to get older people more active, more often. The aim of the Go for Life Games is to involve older people in recreational sport. The games are run with the support of Local Sports Partnerships and the HSE. The Cork Sports Partnership would like to thank all those involved and who made the effort to go this year, especially Ruth Hornfeck from Midleton Active Retirement who coordinated the Cork team for 2016.

It is hoped that another Blitz will be organsied for the Autumn where we will encourage more groups and communites to get inovled in the Go For Life Games.  More info on the Go for Life Games and the Go For Life Programme in General can got by following this link >> GO FOR LIFE <<
