Garda Vetting Basics

This two-hour workshop will help your club/organisation to understand the basics of Garda vetting legislation. You will learn which roles should be Garda vetted, how to make this decision and the basics and practicalities of the Garda vetting process. The training will provide practical real life examples to work through with other participants on the course. Please note this is not child protection training.

Who should attend?

Garda Vetting or Child Protection Officers, Members of Committees or Boards of Management, Anyone involved in the recruitment of volunteers or paid employees.

About the trainer:

Dr Julie Connelly is the Garda Vetting Liaison Person for Cork Volunteer Centre who process Garda vetting applications for more than 250 non-profit groups across Cork City and County. She provides training, advice and support to non-profit groups requiring vetting. On average, the Cork Volunteer Centre team process approximately 2,000 vetting applications per year.
