NEW- Bantry Bay Adventure Race

Tackle West Cork’s terrain in the Bantry Bay Adventure Race on 27th August 2016!


The Innaugural Bantry Bay Adventure Race takes place in Bantry West Cork on Saturday August 27th. The event which is being supported under the Islands Community Sport and Physical Activity Hub is open to all fitness levels, and has both an indiviudal and team option should you wish to take part! It consists of a 5k run on Whiddy Island, a 1,500m Kayak across the Bantry Bay Blue Way, and a 22kapprox cycle along the Sheeps Head Peninsula before finishing up back in Bantry.

The event which is chip timed is being organised to not only showcase some of West Corks wonderful terrian but to raise funds for 3 local charities. Cancer Connect, Bantry Inshore Rescue and Whiddy Island Development Association are the beneficaries of the event this year so on signing up your are supporting some very worthwhile causes locally.

Restricted to 150 participants for year one, the event is sure to sell out, so you are advised to register early to avoid dissapointement. Particiapants can sign up for a start time at 1pm or 2pm, with the relay teams starting with the 1pm wave.
