Volunteer Support Series for Cork Clubs & Groups
Volunteer Support Series for Cork Clubs
As part of National Volunteer Week, Cork Sports Partnership together with Cork Volunteer Centre are delighted to announce a 6-part Volunteer Support Workshop series over the coming months.
The workshops will seek to address and support many key volunteer areas for community clubs, groups, organisations and individuals in an effort to help maximise volunteer programmes for sport and physical activity across Cork.
Speaking about the announcement, Maurice O’ Sullivan, Sport and Marketing Manager with Cork Sports Partnership said ‘Volunteers play a vital role in our helping our communities get active and we are excited to partner with Cork Volunteer Centre again this year to support the many clubs, groups and organisations all across Cork that are run by volunteers’.
In 2021, 121 volunteers from over 50 clubs/organisations attended workshops delivered by Cork Volunteer Centre in partnership with Cork Sports Partnership. The workshops which are delivered online and interactive in nature, provide clubs with access to resources and information to help inform their volunteer policies as well as provide an opportunity to share their experiences across some of the key topics discussed.
Adam Lacey, Manager of Cork Volunteer Centre said ‘We’re delighted to once again partner with Cork Sports Partnership to deliver this suite of training in 2022. Volunteer-led sports groups are often at the heart of communities across the county, and together with Cork Sports Partnership we want to equip these groups with the tools they need to effectively run their programmes‘
