Who: Older Children & Adults

Description: The majority of this cycle will be off road and most of the rest on very quiet roads, it will be slow and easy so is particularly suited to those who are less confident cyclists A Cycle out along the river to the Lee Fields, then along the Greenway behind CIT to Curraheen, though quite estate roads to the Greenway parallel to the N22 between the Bandon Road and Wilton, though quite estate roads and across the Cycle/Pedestrian bridge to Togher cross to join the Greenway Parallel to the N22 into the Tramore Valley Park for t a picnic stop, leave the park via the Greenway Parallel to the N22 to Douglas Village, through the village to the Park on to the Green way to Donnybrook, back through Douglas village to the Green way behind Besskrook to Mahon Strand, past Blackrock Castle and alone the Marine back to the city.

Meeting Point: Clonakilty Bike Circus

Who: Adults

Description: Ebikes have taken the world by storm and the market is awash in choices. Why are some so dear, others Internet bargains? The mechanics at the Bike Circus work on eBikes daily and don’t sell anything. This event is a chance to learn about eBikes free of sales pressure. There will be bikes for participants to examine and discuss with knowledgeable cyclists.

Leisure Sunset Cycle through Time
Date & Time: Fri, 19th May @ @ 6.50pm

Meeting Point: Patrick’s Bridge

Who: Older Children & Adults

Description: A guided cycle through the Solar System. From the sun at Patrick’s Bridge to Neptune at Blackrock Castle. We will stop at each Planet, learn a little about it, get a feeling of the vastness of space and have some fun on the way.

New Moon Leisure Cycle

Meeting Point: Blackrock Castle

Description: An unforgettable journey into the night as we cycle from Blackrock Castle out around Mahon strand and back along the Old railway line. Always a most popular and memorable cycle, the journey will be broken by unexpected sensory experiences, which may include music, poetry, performance, light and dark. This event will follow directly from the “Cycle through time” to Blackrock Castle. The Cycle will finish back in the city centre.

Bike Doctor @ Student Hub

Who: Students, staff, general public Student Hub

Description: Mechanics from Cork Community Bikes will thoroughly check your bike and carry out any small repairs as needed. We’ll explain through sign language what we’re doing and give advice on looking after your bike, and you’ll have a bike prescription to take away

Fix Your Bearings Workshop
Date & Time: Fri, 19th May @  6.30pm

Meeting Point: Cork Community Bikes, Assumption Rd, Blackpool

Who: Adults 

Description: An intro session on bearings, this will give a better understanding of how these should work. The focus will be on helping you to recognise when there are problems, and this may allow you to fix any issues that come up on your bike. Feel free to bring your bike along, and we may use it for demonstration, and you will have the chance to try out the repair work yourself. We will have materials and tools to work on the bikes used.
