The aim of the programme is to provide 1st, 2nd & 3rd class primary school children with a taste of gymnastics, in a supportive and safe environment, with qualified Gymnastics Ireland coaches. In return for full commitment to the programme, each school will receive a 4-week programme of gymnastics sessions (60-minute per class).
The package also includes a teacher-shadowing process whereby the teachers learn & improve confidence to further develop their own class gymnastics teaching skills & lesson plans, ensuring sustainability of a gymnastics programme within the school *Teachers must participate in each class.
The programme will cost each school €10 per pupil (€2.50 per pupil per session) for the initial pilot, which will be payable upon acceptance to the programme. This programme is heavily subsidised by Cork Sports Partnership & Gymnastics Ireland.
Schools are invited to register their interest for the programme throughout the school year. However, places for the pilot programme are limited. Schools will be accepted on a first come, first served basis. Fill out the registration form below to register your school.
