Cork Cycling Campaign Cargo bikes Showcase and their uses. Cargo bike owners and suppliers will speak about their bike and their experience!

Bike Week Cycle To Mullinavasigh Waterfall
A cycle out to Mullinavasigh Waterfall out through Ballincollig Regional Park old railway greenway. There will be a break for a picnic at the Waterfall before beginning the journey back to the city. Longer faster cycle.

Time:  11am-6pm

Location: Meeting point Michael Collins Bike Statue outside the Library on Grand Parade

Suitability: Will be suitable for all those capable of competent road cycling and covering medium distances including older children under supervision or on their parent’s bikes. Will be longer, faster, and involve busier roads and so be particularly suited to more confident cyclists

Courtmac & Back Cycle
Cycle from Ballinspittle to Courtmacsherry. Lunch in Courtmacsherry, then return by bike to Ballinspittle for raffle of Bike Week items

Tragumna Family Fun Cycle 
Enjoy a gentle cycle with off road locations through beautiful Liss Ard Estate and stunning Tragumna beach. Delicous food will be provided before a cycle back through Liss Ard to Skibbereen

 Circumnavigation Cycle of Cork City
Participants will be guided on a loop around Cork City, using a mix of urban cycle lanes and quieter suburban roads. The event is designed to introduce riders to lesser-known areas of the city and its outskirts, revealing new recreational spaces along the way. The route begins at St Patrick’s Quay, follows cycle paths along the North Quays as far as the North Mall, then continues along Suil na mBan and the Mardyke Path to Lee Fields. Next, the tour follows the Curragheen River Greenway to Umvar Drive before proceeding along Model Farm Road, passing Dennehys Cross to reach the Lough and then crossing to Tramore Valley Park. Finally, the route continues along Douglas Skehard Road and the Old Blackrock Railway, following the greenway back into the city. Support, including route maps and rest stops, will be available throughout the journey. This event is designed for stronger cyclists keen to explore a variety of cycle routes across Cork City.

Midleton Greenway Family Fun Cycle
Participants will be guided by ride leaders as they cycle from Midleton to the Mogeely section of the MY Greenway. A brief stop will be made in Mogeely, where you can enjoy picnic items you bring along, or grab a refreshment from the coffee trailer. You are welcome to bring your own bike; if you don’t have one, please indicate on your registration along with your height to request a bike

Location: Midleton to Mogeely section of MY (Midleton Youghal) Greenway

Suitability: Families who are able to cycle 16km together are welcome to participate. Bikes are available for those who don’t have their own, with options for adults and children aged 7+. These bikes, as well as chariot trailers for younger children, must be booked at the time of registration.

The Marina Family Nature ride
A family-friendly bike ride stopping often to notice nature, led by nature guide Jo Goodyear. The ride will start at the Centre Park Road entrance of Marina Market.

 Ballincollig Sustainable Travel Park Cycle
A leisurely cycle following a route through Ballincollig and the Ballincollig Regional Park. The cycle will be led by experienced cyclists who cycle in Ballincollig daily. The event will highlight the existing cycling infrastructure in Ballincollig and how to use the park to navigate around the area. The event will culminate with a talk by a local bike shop owner who will provide basic bike maintenance tips.

Fix Your Brakes taster
An intro session on brakes, this will give a better understanding of how they should work. The focus will be on helping you to recognise when there are problems, and this may allow you to fix any issues that come up on your bike. Feel free to bring your bike along, we will provide bikes for you to try out the repair work yourself. We will have materials and tools provided.
