Cork GAA For All Inclusive Club Development

Cork Sports Partnership have worked closely with clubs across Cork to develop an inclusive club model supporting players of all abilities to join their local GAA Club.

In Year 1 Cork Sports Partnership piloted the inclusive club model with Midleton GAA Club and Killeagh GAA Club which included:

  • Establishing a GAA For All Committee
  • Liaising with the local Cork GAA Games Development Officer
  • Providing Training and Education Opportunities to club executive members, coaches and volunteers
  • 58 coaches and volunteers received training across 4 workshops; Disability Awareness Training | Disability Inclusion Training, Safeguarding and GAA Foundation Level Training.
  • Delivery of Club based GAA For All programme took place.
  • 28 children with disabilities participated in weekly sessions in their local GAA Club.
  • Over 25 coaches and volunteers supported sessions at the clubs during the initial phase of the inclusive club development.

Year 2 Cork Sports Partnership supported Youghal GAA Club Newcestown GAA

Year 3 Cork Sports Partnership worked with Castleyons GAA, Bantry GAA, Aghada GAA and Mitchelstown GAA to develop an inclusive club approach. We also hosted a GAA for All networking event for new and existing clubs to come together and share ideas, network and gain practical skills that promote inclusive clubs.
