Bike Week Cork 2024 | Event Applications Now Open!

Following a hugely successful Bike Week Cork 2023, plans are back in motion to organise the week-long celebration of cycling throughout Cork City and County for 2024!

Bike Week Cork is an integral part of the overall National Bike Week initiative and is coordinated locally by a multi-agency group comprised of Cork Sports Partnership, Cork City Council & Cork County Council.

Each year, Bike Week Cork is supported by numerous community groups, organisations, clubs, schools, workplaces and disability services who organise and take part in events throughout the week.

ABOUT NATIONAL BIKE WEEK

National Bike Week was launched in 2009 to raise the profile of cycling as a healthy and fun mode of transport and physical activity.

The initiative was developed by the Department of Transport, Tourism and Sport and continues to grow each year. Bike Week is organised locally by Local Authorities, Local Sports Partnerships, Community Groups, Clubs, Schools and other interested cycling stakeholders.

This year promises to continue this growth trend with a great quantity and variety of events for the public to choose from.

BIKE WEEK SCHOOL EVENTS

Cork City Council & Cork County Council have secured funding from the Department of Transport, Sport and Tourism to support a limited number of school cycling events during Bike Week Cork 2024. Cork City Council & Cork County Council are offering your school the opportunity to organise your own National Bike Week event to celebrate cycling within your school and community.

  • Funding Availability: Max €200 for School Events and event must be held within the week of Bike Week Cork .

BIKE WEEK COMMUNITY EVENTS

Cork City Council & Cork County Council have secured funding from the National Transport Authority to support a limited number of community, public, workplace, youth service, disability service and organisations cycling events during Bike Week Cork 2024. Cork City Council & Cork County Council are offering your organisation the opportunity to organise your own National Bike Week event.

  • Funding Availability: Max €400 for Community events. Events must be held within the week of Bike Week Cork .
