Scooch Demonstration Workshop

Cork Sports Partnership is looking for expressions of interest from groups, clubs and centres that are interested in providing scooch in their community.

Workshop Details

This practical workshop will be delivered by an expert facilitator who will provide participants with the required skills and knowledge to become “skippers” and deliver scooch within their community

  • Where: Inniscarra Community Centre
  • When: Wednesday February 15th
  • Time: 10am to 1pm

Each Group, club or centre may send up to two participants to take part in the workshop.

Information on applying for age and opportunity grants will also be provided during the workshop.

By registering your interest you will need to confirm access to a scooch appropriate facility (hard floor), intention to deliver to a community group or club and intention to apply for grant/funding for scooch equipment.

Places for this workshop are limited and completion of the expression of interest does not guarantee participation. We hope to accommodate everyone that applies, if large numbers apply we will explore offering a second workshop for those that cannot attend the initial workshop.

What is Scooch?

Scooch is a uniquely Irish adaptation of the sport of ShuffleBoard designed to suit smaller spaces and pockets. It is an inclusive activity that caters for a wide range of skill levels, fitness levels and abilities. Scooch can be played on any flat, smooth surface (wood, concrete, tight carpet) and can be played in singles (one player versus another) or pairs (two versus two).

Scooch can be adapted to suit the needs of individuals and can be played standing or seated.
