We are delighted to announce the launch of a new 10-week Family Fitness programme coming in February2022. The programme will run in Clonakilty (Darrara) initially and we hope to expand it to other areas of Cork later in 2022.

Programme Information:

A 10 week family focused programme combining both physical activity and healthy eating.

Over the 10 weeks you will learn the important elements of cooking healthy meals and healthier versions of your current family favourites. You will also start and progress your family fitness journey which after the 10 weeks, will help build and maintain a healthy routine for all the family.

This programme will benefit the whole family and encourage better lifestyle choices.

Programme Structure:

Classes will run every Tuesday & Thursday from 5.30-6.30pm in the Darrara community hall near Clonakilty.

Weekly classes include physical activity and healthy eating elements.

As well as the two sessions per week, families can also opt to join up with the group on a Saturday morning to take part in the Clonakilty Park Run (9.30am – The Show Grounds, Park Road, Clonakilty).

Cost:

Family cost includes 2 adults & 2 kids.

Just €6 per family per class.

€120 total (10-weeks | 20 sessions)

Tutor Profile:

Lorna O’Regan, mum of 3, from Feel good Health and fitness, Clonakilty will be delivering this programme.

Lorna has a strong passion for food and fitness. She has a BSc in Nutritional Science, is currently doing her diploma in Nutrition and lifestyle coaching and also holds a Diploma in Strength and Conditioning. Lorna loves to cook and will demonstrate many easy meals that can be replicated at home to allow for better family eating and sustainable healthy living.

Lorna will bring her love of cooking, energy and enthusiasm to every class to keep all participants motivated and most importantly bring fun to fitness.

What to expect:

  • 20 exercise and healthy eating sessions (no equipment required)
  • Saturday morning Park Run’s (optional)
  • Visit from a Community Dietitian, + Q&A session
  • Healthy Food Made Easy, programme & booklet
  • Cooking from scratch advice with demonstrations (hummus, homemade pizza, granola, salads, healthy pancakes, energy balls, healthy lunchbox ideas and much more!)
  • Family Goody Bag with CSP & Healthy Ireland Merchandise
  • Weekly exercise and cooking goals to work on
